The classic wood-fired pizza, which has been enjoyed at farmers markets and private parties since 2005, is now available at a permanent location at 1075 East Montague Avenue in Olde Historic North Charleston.
EVO is a unique pizzeria that combines classic techniques with fresh, local ingredients to produce a true Neapolitan pizza. All EVO pizzas consist of hand-made dough, hand-made sauce and hand-pulled mozzarella, freshly baked in a traditional wood-fired oven. The restaurant also features fresh menu items, such as homemade soups, salads, cured meats and sandwiches on fresh baked artisan breads, all made in-house with that great taste for which EVO is known. With local beers on tap and special European wines by the carafe, EVO Pizzeria hopes both new and returning clients will help to make it the best pizzeria in Charleston.
Awarded "Best Pizza" by The City Paper in 2005, "Best Mobile Meals" by The Post and Courier in 2006 and seen in "Word on the Street" in Charleston Magazine in 2006, EVO has been turning heads since its inception in May 2005. Co-owners Ricky Hacker and Matt McIntosh founded EVO, beginning with a mobile wood-fired oven cart that traveled throughout Charleston and South Carolina. By using only the freshest ingredients and a wood-fired oven on wheels, Ricky and Matt were able to produce a classic pizza that South Carolina had not yet experienced.
